Must have for STYX fans!!

This might be one of the coolest things I've seen in a while... The Contemporary Youth Orchestra in Cleveland, Ohio has a conductor who is apparently a huge Styx fan. She contacts Styx to see if they want to jam with her orchestra and choir of kids 13-18 years old... Well, they did and well, it really, really, works!!
What an extremely fun concert to watch. Tommy Shaw and company are at the top of their game in every way. Their drummer Todd Suchermann absolutely is one of the most fun drummers to watch. Tommy Shaw's voice is absolutely crystal clear, sounding better than it ever has, and that's saying something! The same can be said for "JY" James Young, who sings better than ever as well. The band just continues to improve with age where other band's vocals or virtuosity tend to weather and decline as time marches forward... Speaking of which, Chuck "Chucky" Panozzo makes an appearance looking very rested, tanned, and like he's been working out...
Now, the orchestra and choir... Wow!! What an energetic, enthusiastic talented group of "today's" kids... It's obvious they are having the time of their lives rocking out with songs written over 30 years ago. They can't seem to help themselves... pounding their knees, bobbing heads, dancing at times, and just absolutely playing the daylights out of their instruments. How refreshing to see their smiles and laughter as they get a chance to shine in this concert in front of parents and die-hard Styx fans. It's obvious that Styx really enjoyed this musical match-up as well, and their admiration for these kids is clearly shown.
Finally, there are quite a few new songs in the playlist... which was a little scary for me at first, wondering "hmmm..." Well, "wow" again!! The new songs performed in beautiful synergism with the kids are just spectacular. They rock when they need to, they soar harmonically to brilliant heights at just the right times, and the musicianship is fascinating to watch. If you're a Styx fan or even just a fan of great 70's music, or a fan of great music, or a fan of cool stuff... Get This DVD!!!!!! NOW!!!! I got the Blu-Ray version which is HD phenomenal, but I'm sure the regular DVD is amazing to the bone as well.
