The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection (DVD, 2003)

This is one documentary over a wrestler that truly does personify the word "collection" if there ever was one. I've watched tons of documentaries over wrestlers through the years, but this specific one over Ric Flair stands out as one of the best ever created I think. What makes it so special above others, is they didn't just put a ton of matches together and put it out on the shelf for people to buy. What they did instead was pick out some of his most legendary battles and put the special segments on various wrestling shows that led up to it. They also put various interviews by Flair and his rivals at the time to hype up the match and their importance. And also if it was done at the time the interviews by both wrestlers conducted the night of the special events or various PPV's they wrestled at. Flair also gives his personal opinions on the various wrestlers featured on here and tells you why the feuds were so special, and how he felt his matches with them were.

You get numerous battles of him with Dusty Rhodes here. You get the infamous "I Quit" match he had with Terry Funk in 1989 on here. You get some of his legendary ring wars with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat on here. And some of his legendary matches with Barry Windham as well, which I personally think are highly underrated as some of Flair's best matches and one of his best feuds. It stands to reason judging by some of the segments and matches on here that Ric Flair had a hand in putting this together himself and telling WWE what should be on it.

Any fan of Ric Flair's will enjoy the interview segments on here for sure though. He proves in each one of them why he was/is one of the top five best talkers on the mic in the history of the business. There are a lot of other nuggets of various footage on here too put on here that they perceived would be interesting to show about Ric Flair. Like they have the footage of when Flair and the Horseman beat up Sting and kicked him out of the Horseman because he refused to back out of the world title match he signed with Flair. You get to see Flair win the wrestler of the decade award by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 1989 on here also. Flair explains on here also how he came to arriving to the WWF (WWE) back in 1992 and how he was able to come with the world title from there too. They cover the horrendous plane crash he was in that nearly ended his life and career back in 1975 when he was on the verge of hitting his prime in the business. Any fan of Ric Flair's will love this DVD for sure. It proves why he is the man and why he is the best world champion in history. A wrestling DVD/video collection is naked without this one for sure!

To be the man, you've got to beat tne man! Vintage Ric Flair...it doesn't get any better than this! Hulk who?

Ok, first of all, it's Ric Flair which would give it 5 Stars by default.
However, the sheer LACK of matches in this "ultimate" collection is SO severe that this DVD would get a 2 Star rating.
Seriously, there are only 8 MATCHES on the main selection. There are 2 bonus matches (Flair's debut and one against Triple H on RAW with a post show tribute).
But 8 matches... seriously? WWE makes a 3 DISC SET and calls it "The ULTIMATE Ric Flair Collection" and only gives us 8 matches.
Yeah there are some interviews before and after every match, talking about the match and the feud that led up to it. But, the fact remains... 8 MATCHES!!!
The bonus material on the discs are good and the total run time for this set is over 10 hours, which is a LOT of Ric Flair. But still... 8 matches?

All of the complaining aside ANY fan of Ric Flair should buy this DVD set because even with only 8 matches, those are
8 matches that will blow anything out today right off of the map. Period. Flair can still run circles around 90% of the guys he's in there with.

Fans of wrestling who are not quite educated should be required by law to buy this in order to legally call themselves a wrestling fan.

The ONLY reason this doesn't get 5 Stars is because there are still only 8 matches!

I have been a wrestling fan since I was a child and I admire Rick Flair because he was a professional at what he did without the use of performance enhancers. He was the Best of the Best, and the last great champion. The price was right. Wrestling has changed drastically since I started watching in the late 50's. It is way to glitzy now. This brought back some of the memories of times gone by when showmanship was about how you dressed and talked, while now it is about sex and being weird.

This one is an absolute great buy and almost any price. This three disc set chronicles one of the greatest superstars in the history of professional wrestling, Ric Flair. You see Flair in his early NWA days, then WWF, and then back to WCW. It is a great series of three discs showcasing Flair against some of his greatest opponents and in his greatest rivalries. With opponents such as Sting, Terry Funk, Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat, Harley Race, the list goes on and on!

Also a great special added bonus with the Tribute to Flair in South Carolina after his match with Triple H there. A great, great bonus.

This is a must own for any Flair fan.

This is by far the most awesome collection of Woooooing on DVD. Atlanta, GA has been starved for the sight of a real man, and shazam Flair shows up. He destorys all men, women, and cyborgs in his path. To be the man you've got to beat...

This dvd is no longer being made by the WWE. As you know Ric Flair is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. This movie was the first of the ultimate collection that showcases the nature boys career. This dvd was made while Ric Flair was still on the active roster.

Honestly, I didn't watch it. It was a gift for the guy I was dating at the time. He is a huge (almost obsessive) fan of Rick Flair. I am a Bret Hart fan so I am NOT interested. He did say that he loved it so that's all I can give.

A must have for any Ric Flair fan as well as any wrestling fan, some great matches on this dvd set, including flair vs sting, flair vs Ricky Steamboat, Flair vs Harley Race, etc. This has it all Flair from the start to the finish of his career in the AWA, WCW, NWA, and WWE.

this was purchased as a christmas present...receiver really enjoyed...that person had been looking for the dvd, but wasn't having any luck...so it dawned on me that perhaps someone on ebay being of equal liking to ric flair might

This was without a doubt the best video that WWE has ever produced. Flair has had some of the best matches that I have ever seen. For someone who has followed Ric's career, this brought back many great memories and emotions. Flair is the best wrestler ever and this video spotlights that. The only match that was not included that should have been was his victory over Ronnie Garvin at starcade87. Every other match on this video was complete and exciting. This is one great video!

Love me some Ric Flair. He is probably the best wrestler/entertainer of all time. DVD was received in good quality. DVD was also received in a timely manner.

If you are a Ric Flair fan this is also another awesome dvd. It has it all matches interviews & a whole lot more. I found this dvd set highly entertaining & recommend it to any fans of the Nature Boy...

Plain and simple--if you are a Ric Flair fan, you should have this in your collection. Here are some of the best matches of the greatest wrestler to ever lace up a pair of boots. Keep in mind this is from 2003, so you're not going to see the last few years of Ric's fantastic career. There's nothing else to say other than "WOOOOOOOO"!

it is about my favorite wrestler. and there were no scratches on the dvd and it came in the mail in a timely manner. like it and love it.
