Street Fighter IV (Playstation 3, 2009)

Wow this game was worth the wait. The original games were fun, but this is by far my favorite. The graphics are the best they've ever been. The controls are basically the same. They've also added some new characters. I have absolutely no complaints. This is the game that you want to get. Great game.

I like this game because it remind me of all the street fighter games that been made in the past and plus I'm a street figher fan as well.

I've been a fan of the Street Fighter series for many years now and had eagerly awaited the release of the new Street Fighter IV.

Many times in the past I've been caught up in the pre-release hype of upcoming games and been majorly disappointed once the game was released.

NOT THIS TIME!!!!

Street Fighter IV is AWESOME!!!

The developers at Capcom have stayed true to the classic formula that has made Street Fighter the cult classic that it is.

They kept the storylines to a minimum, no long, painful, cheesy clips to sit through before fights.

The action is still in 2D, as it should be, but set in highly detailed, 3D locations.

All the classic characters are there, with a few new ones thrown in for good measure.

The action is fast and furious, and beginners to experts can just pick up and play.

Overall, I highly recommend this game if you're a Street Fighter fan, and if you've never played any of the Street Fighter games in the past, now is a great time to pick it up.

I've played every version of Street Fighter extensively leading up to this title. SF4 was really worth the wait. The game mechanics are solid and stays interesting, the characters are suprisingly all balanced well, especially when compared to the previous title (Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike). Arcade mode is short and sweet, with a vague storyline and a boss who is as difficult as a boss needs to be, but not overly ridiculous.

Online is something else, something brilliant. Aside from being able to search for people to fight with match rules of your choosing, but you can enable yourself to be searched, so while playing Arcade mode you'll be bombarded with people challanging you. And lag? Almost non-existant even amongst people with poor connections.

Replay is there, with many challanges and things to unlock within the game as well as a ton of trophies.

Overall, for Street Fighter fans, this game will take you back to your glory days of Street Fighter II and spin it with the power today's technology. Buy it already!

OMG the graphics are real good.... The game itself is real good players will have alot of fun playing the game. All the characters are here since super ninnetndo the moves of the combo is real difficult but the old moves are still the same. Its an awesome game.

I love the fact that I got in my possesion one of the best and newest games in 2009. I purchased well under the big name stores purchased price.

Who hasn't heard of the renowned Street Fighter franchise? If you haven't than you need to do some homework. Street Fighter IV has come out with all the hype in hand and it has lived up to my and many others expectations for this great fighting game. Today's fighting games are mostly done in a 3d environment, which sometimes can be a hinder to the simplicity of the game. This game is simple, kick the but out of your opponent on the other side of the screen fighting left to right or vice versa. A fighting game doesn't need to have all these new features to be fun, SFIV is a 2d game which graphic wise is brought to compete in today's HD market. SFIV is one of those CAN'T MISS games which will likely become a classic down the road. The only one con I think the game has is that the characters are huge, their like in the juggernaut category in my opinion (you'll see once you play). All in all this game is a must have into your gaming library because this will be one of those games that will last for a very long time.

I like the great 3D graphics and the new combat system is cool.
The game is missing tournament mode. The only on-line mode is quick or create. I liked tournament mode on Street Fighter II HD Remix.

On the cause of that one feature missing means Street Fighter VI unlike Final Fantasy XIII in it's genre of RPG is not perfect. Had there been a tournament mode the game would have gotten higher approval after those picky about buying after renting may reconsider.

If your a die hard Street Fighter fan or your into the SNK King of Fighters series this is a must buy.

Awesome game!! If you played the original back in the 90's, you'll LOVE this new version. It's like the old Street Fighter but on crack!! You pick up right where you left off. You never forget the moves or combos...controls are basically the same. You'll be throwing "sonic booms" right away. The gameplay is superb, graphics are amazing! It's like 3D but still 2D. Online feature is great too. You can easily challenge anyone at anytime during gameplay. You can either play ranked or unranked matches, there are also tournaments. All the characters are just like you remember, with some newbies thrown in. The finishing moves are AMAZING!! I've been playing for 8 hours and have yet to find anything I don't like about it. I loved this game as a teenager and I still love it now as an adult. This ones a definite keeper!!

EDIT: I found something I don't like...the stupid little boy band opening song. Commmmme onnnnn!! Also you can play the begining of that "low ride er" song with the main menu options. Low - ride - er is a lil lower...

love how it meshes old and new.. i loved the old arcare versions and this is just like it but way better graphics on the ps3!

Street fighter has always been and always will be the best fighting game! Maybe even the most competitive game ever. It takes a lot more than just pushing butons like some do.

Finally... back to basics with the power of 2D! This game brings a breath of fresh air to the old franchise and helps us forget the awful slow 3D game-play attempts of previous Street Fighter games.
