The Astronaut Farmer (DVD, 2007)

Little known rancher who stands tall, and sets his sights on the stars! Strong character performances and a inspirational story, The film was very convincing in special effects and realistic situations, I'm a lead explosives engineer for one of the largest quarry mining servicing corporations in the US, and I found the storyline to flow seamlessly. My family loved this film! It was inspirational and kept us involved for every moment of the film. I hope they produce a sequel! 5-Stars!!!

This Movie Was a Pretty Good Movie. It's really not my type of movie but i Certainly liked it. Thorton Was good in it. And it was inspring to everyone to never give up. It's a Great Family movie. Good for those Family Movie/Pizza Friday Nights.

I love this movie because it is a story of not giving up. Stay true to your dreams. There may be pot holes on the road but the road still teads to wher you want to go.

This was a good movie about a dream that one man had and tried to make come true. It is a movie that all the family can watch together. Once again Billy Bob Thorton, plays a great role. The whole cast was great and made the movie. If you like a movie where a family pulls and sticks together, you will love this one.

What struck me most about this movie is how insulting it is to so many dedicated professionals from the history of our space program. This movie is not a parody, but rather a drama that has the audacity to suggest that one man (in a matter of a few years) can single-handedly plan, design, build and fly a machine that, in real life, took thousands of talented and dedicated engineers, scientists, astronauts and countless other professionals millions of people-hours to do a few decades ago. And, BTW, all for about $600,000 - not the billions it cost NASA. Not only was the story ridiculously far-fetched and belittling to our heroes of the past, but there were countless technical errors that engineers and scientists are probably still shaking their heads over days after seeing this joke of a film. If you haven't yet seen this film, I would advise you not to waste your time or money.

On the other hand, as dramas come (and go) this wasn't terribly bad. Although terribly far-fetched as movies go, Billy Bob Thornton does a remarkable job of holding together what little integrity this film has. If however, you are looking for something in the same league as The Right Stuff or Apollo 13 then look elsewhere.

This is a great movie about not giving up on your dreams and perserverence. This is a great family movie if you have tweens or teens. Billy Bob Thornton is great in this role!

I would have liked to watch it but the seller did not send the item, nor did he refund my money. I have written him a number of times stating that I have not received any refund, and have not heard any response from him.

Ok here we go...WOw did I miss something. This is a very different movie right from the beginning. The first seen has really no set up it just goes to a farmer building a rocket. Hasother noticable gaps that make you feel you missed something. Lightly entertaining but VERY predictable and with some heartfelt moments. A let down overall for me but family friendly and do NOT watch it tired or you will not make it through. Thats just this guys opinion. This movie starts off with the typical "Billy Bob Thornton" humor that we have all grown to love. Parts of the middle section of the movie seem to be a bit depressing but right when you start feeling down, the movie picks you up with storyline that a family who believes in one another, can and will survive. Without giving away the ending.....you have got to see this movie! You will literally feel better about yourself when you do!

A good movie for those who gave up on their dreams or just needs some rocket fuel to restart theirs. A movie that went under the radar. While the story is a far stretch of reality... the connection adn message to its family audience was well made.

This movie is one that will teach and inspire anyone who has a dream. So often we are told that our dreams are unreachable. In this movie an entire family supports the dream of one of their members and despite the cost the family has faith in the dreamer. The dream comes true and teaches us to never give up on our dreams.

It is an inspiring movie for all, young and old.

Americans need to have dreams and heros - so encourage those around you to do just that. Even if it's about a fictional character an uplifting story is a worthwhile film; and how nice to see some of those again!

I thought this was a very nice family movie. It shows the importance of family support and that you should never give up on your dreams. Better movie than expected!! Billy Bob Thornton was the good man I saw in Armageddon.
