Dynasty Warriors 6 (Playstation 3, 2008)

An excellent game. Much better than previous DWs. Much more realistic now, with more people to fight in the battlefield as if youre actually in a real war. Horse dies now and developers put a lot of effort in to make character swim and climb up walls. Some character appearance still needs developing though like Guan Yu looks different from his previous forms, and LuBu looks like a demon with an X shape weapon. Overall good game, realistic and gave a real sense of ancient warfare compare to previous versions whereas theres only a number of people to kill.

I bought this game because it was at a very good price and it was brand new. I couldnt find a Dynasty Warriors 6 anywhere in my city - WalMart, GameStop, Target, or even Best Buy! So I found it on here :)

What I liked about this purchase, like I mentioned in the above, the price was excellent. I also liked the communication and friendlyness from the seller.

What I didn't like was that the seller didn't mention that I would also have to purchase an HDMI cable cord to play this game since it is from the UK and not US. The game consoles are different but on their site, it said that it should be compatible ... but only WITH the HDMI cable cord.

So basically, the price of the game with the seperate HDMI cable I had to get afterwards equaled basically...the brand new game here in the US. I was kind of stunned that they didn't mention that on their site. I also e-mailed the seller but just got a generic answer like, "You should read the manual and it should work." So I guess they didn't really care much about if it worked or not.

Overall, it was a good purchase.

The video game would not play on my PS3. When I contacted the company neon-games, Direct Consoles responded. They wanted me to return the product with a description of the paper on A4 paper - no easy to find in the U.S. and specified that they would only refund or replace if the game did not work on their machines. As I see it, I'm out the money for the game, so I cut my losses instead of paying shipping to England and purchased the game from another source.

A great game too play, would recommand, if your a dynasty fan, story scene are nice too watch too...........................​.............................

I've been a long time fan of the series since it started to come out for the PS2.
Since it was on the PS3 I'd imagined that it was going to be a lot better than the previous titles. Not as good as expected but is still a fun game to play.

well i like all the dynastys games but is like is always the same but i guess is ok i enjoy it anyways lol

Once again the heroes of Dynasty Warriors meet on a battlefield that has incorperated new features and challenges.

The skinny:

All in all, if you've played any of the previous DW games don't
don't expect a whole new style of play. Basiscally it's the same
as ever, just a bit more challenging and they've made it into
a bit more of an rpg style system.

Gameplay:

Cut, paste. The gameplay is almost identical to recent titles. The only real difference now is magic tomes you can pick up and use(essentially they are the item you could get in other titles to increase your attack strength, defense and make your musou true during a short time). Now, you get something called a special attack eg: true speed. Using this makes you incredibly fast and enemies drop crazy amounts of items.

Levelling up now grants you points to put towards a skill tree for each character. Each character gets a unique tree with multiple paths you can take. Skills earned in this tree range from health, attack, and defense upgrades to special skills you can use on the battlefield.

All those times in past titles that you got frustrated when allied officers stole the kill from you are over. Now, when an enemy officer is killed they drop an experience basket for you. No more pesky allies taking your exp points.

They've now given you a renbue meter which will limit how many times you can charge attack until you've filled the meter (it doesnt't deplete like your musou meter does). The game has now gone from a button mashers heaven to a button mashers utopia. This is because now with the renbue meter full you can endlessly press square and never stop attacking. If you wanted to you could walk across the map without missing a swing.

Each level now gives you target goals to accomplish. Each level has multiple targets you can achieve that award experience and weapons when completed. (ex: Defeat all enemy officers in 15 minutes. 700exp)

You and your horse can swim now.


Visuals:

The visuals in this installment were far from impressive admittedly. The characters still look blocky as do the random soldiers (My PS3 is hooked up via HDMI to my plasma screen and even that doesn't seem to help...it just makes it more obvious if anything). Cutscenes are still where the visuals get cleaned up but they're still very last generation graphics.

Understadably, lag is still and issue especially in co-op play. Every now and then you will run into an invisible group of enemies and all of a sudden be surrounded by three officers. Keep an eye on your map.

I bouth this game for my 12 year old son. He loves it and plays it more than his other games. He says it's the best one he has. I like it b/c it doesn't really have blood and has no bad language at all. I have a 2 year old also and it doesn't bother me if he's in the room while it is being played. It's a great clean game that still has the fighting that boys want

We love this game. It is exciting and the graphics are excellent. My son enjoys playing this game as well as my husband.

My grandson, age 9, requested this game. There is no place to purchase it in this small community so I checked for it on Ebay. Since I have no interest in games, I'll speak for my grandson. He really enjoys it---loves the realistic graphics and the numerous levels of competition. That company must be doing something right since this is number 6!

In the previous editions of this game (PS2, and before) the scenarios were much more difficult and challenging... This one is a breeze.

Still, the improvements made to the 6th edition is a joy from audio and visual standpoint. Still not on par with more advanced engines used in Heavenly Sword and Genji, it still shines as the premier slash and burn game.

An awesome stress reliever after a long day at work!!

Dynasty Warriors being one of my favorite games, really got me interested in buying 6 for the ps3. I started with dynasty warriors 3 and finally worked my way up to 6. This took years mind you. The gameplay is definatly different. there are no ultimate weapons, no super horses and not as many characters, and also some of the characters are copies of others, for example zhen ji, and diao chan both use whips as their weapons. The combo systems are great, but now you constantly have to keep fighting to get your renbu meter to the max, allowing you to continue using your combo uninterrupted. Over all i think its a great game, but i think i could use some more individuality, as far as weapons and characters go. A mix of DW6 fighting style with the weapons detail of DW5 would create IMO the best Dynasty Warriors game in years. Now if only Samurai Warriors would follow suit....

I am a Dynasty warriors and samirai warriors freak, I have every game in each series back to DW 2, even the extreme legend editions of each.

So what did I think about the Games first Next Gen appearance? Meh...

The game is fun, the game is challenging. The graphics are good... but not incredible. When I first saw Dynasty Warriors 2 on the PS2 (this was the first game I ever saw on a PS2) I was absolutly blown away. I expected Koei to have spared no expense making a beautiful and full game.

The game is solid and all there but not nearly as deep as DW 5 XL, or Warriors Orochi. I really hoped they would have given it much more effort to try and revitalize the series on a new generation of consoles.

I'm not loosing hope in the series though. I just have to hope that Koei realizes they can't just rest on the foundation they built on the PS2. Gamers expect next gen games to be of superb quality and this game is merely good.

Still buy it though essp if you don't have the old DW games, you will love it. I guess I just got spolied on the depth of the PS2 titles.

Great game. if you like the other Dynasty warriors im sure you will enjoy this one.
the skill level is harder so you cant just run threw and kill everyone with ease.

if u like action sword fighting game? this game is the best, with all the perfect graphics and everything. You gotta love this game.

.....well this is your game. Pick from 9 different officers and tackle the battlefield. Kung-fu and martial arts moves are super slick in this game. You have an entire battlefield to conquer and many various different enemies to hack, dice and slice up. Master different attacks and styles, fight side by side with your other officers (as well as another player on the same PS3) and conquer ancient China! Plus, playing this game is like watching a kung-fu movie. You have total control of your charector. Ride a horse into battle, storm the gates of a castle or just bash the heck out of everything/everyone you see.

This game is off the hook. I have had it for 3 days now and still cant get past the 2nd level. Not thats its too hard, but it sure has a big challenge waiting around every corner. To be honest, I am sick of games that are some simple and easy to beat that this complicated and challenging game really gives me what I have been missing from video games in the past decade.....A FREAKIN CHALLENGE!

Learning to fight in this game is pretty easy, but learning how to fight every opponent in the game takes some skill. Mastering each officer takes a bit of time, but once you get 1/2 way to good at it you cant put the game down. It's your army versus an entire battlefield of opponents! Use the terrain to your advantage, capture garrisons, castles and towers to level the battlefield. You can even fight the opposition officers and generals to deplete the opposition's moral and let your army duke it out with the peons in the game. Strategy is a must in this game. You cant conquer the battle on your own, you need to help your other units and position your forces appropriately.

The graphics are amazing. The storyline is intreging and the possibilities are endless. If you are a fan of any war-style game, you will have nothing but appreciation for Dynasty Warriors 6. I love this game!
