This is the original movie inspired by the book of the same name. Unlike Johnny Depp's version, this one is more musical. Gen Wilder is Willy Wonka, the eccentric and mysterious chocolate maker. This chocolate factory is one you would like. It has more weird and original candy than the new version. It's a classic. A must have for some serious HD-DVD collectors.

Not only was the DVD defective, but when I emailed the seller about the defective DVD (no it was not my DVD player, as all other DVDs word in my DVD player), I got no response. I paid $4.39 for something that I am not able to use.
I know that when I sell my items, I always give 100% quality or my customer's money is returned.

) My daughter loves the dvd so I wanted to get the hd version and it does actually have a much better picture. It was cheaper than a normal dvd also as long as you actually have a hd player.

This seller is an embarrassment to EBAY.. He should be banned from selling. His professionalism is compltely discourteous who feels he can talk to his customers the way he would talk to his buddies. Rude,cursing etc.His mentality is like an adolescent child w your money with no remorse. Please save yourself the headache and your money and purchase whatever you need from someone else..

the title was greatThis movie was purchased in error by myself, seller more than happy to accomodate, very pleasnt individual, offered full refund. I refused as I found someone that could use it. Still looking for the original Willy Wonka not HD or bluray. I would most certainly purchase from this store again!!!

Classic movie many of us grew up on brought the the Hi Def format. Picture is not up to par with newer HD format movies(which wasn't to be expected), but is much better than the original VHS or DVD releases.

) Transaction was good, I cannot play the movie because of my DVD player. I went and bought a new one (that the seller said would work with the movie) and it still did not play. I'm not sure what the problem is but the movie came quick from the seller. Thank you!

This is a classic movie that may seem outdated with the technology being used today. TV Dinners are no longer made the way they were in the 1950 to 1970's, but the idea is still present that children should not watch too much television. Overall, the movie presents several children of questionable character that get into Mr. Wonka's factory. Only one special boy - Charlie - is the likeable character.
The Ompa-Loompahs's are a riot. They sing/chant very well and also present the theme of trying to get children to behave.
The movie is one that I sit down with my children and watch. We discuss various aspects of behavior that we observe. Of course, like most magical movies, this has a happy ending. In real life, our endings may not be so nice - even if we do the right thing. However, it's the ideology of trying to do well in our society that makes the movie special.
Yes, it's an old classic. Yes, the special effects are limited. Yes, it may be a harsh movie in today's PC environment. Yes, it may seem a little 'edgy' concerning the overall PC. BUT - BUT - it's a movie that I can truly watch over and over again with the kids. The singing is fun and the lyrics are quaint. There is truth in the lyrics! It's a movie worth renting and owning.
