I love the Harry Potter book series, and the movies are wonderful! Of course, it couldn't be completely true to the book without being four hours long, but it got close! The acting was great, and many of the characters were exactly as I imagined them! From Hermione's slightly superior tone, to Ron's hiliarious facial expressions, to beautiful Hogwarts, the movies are some of the best book adaptations I've seen!

What is so great about the harry potter films is that they grow with your child, they become more intelectually stimulating and more emotionally involved. This film is deffinatly not for your very young children as it addresses the topic of death and has many scary sceens. You 9+ year old should be very much glued to the tv though... heck you'll be glued to the tv!!

I have to admit, amongst all the Harry Potter films, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is the best one. Better than the first three, more emotional than the first three, more fun than the first three and more mature than the first three.

SEE HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE NOW!!! I HAVE THE DVD.

I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire truly excited by the prospect of this film which should be the turning point in the Harry Potter odyssey, but came away somewhat disappointed.

The special effects were awesome, but the film played like a highlights tape. I know that there is no possible way to cover what was in the book, but the movie jumped from one high point to the next, with almost no character development.

I fully expected this to be a darker movie, but it was lacking the warmth of the earlier films, simply because it didn't devote any time to the friendship of the three. I was also very surprised that so little time was devoted to the finale. This particular event was the changing point in Harry's life and it received even less time than some of the Challenges.

There was some minor comic relief (usually involving Ron), but it just wasn't enough... and wasn't very funny.

All that said, the film definitely held my interest and rates almost four stars, but it felt like it was missing heart. It just left me kind of cold...

This is one fantastic film but you should obviously watch the first three if you haven't already. They seem to be getting darker and geared towards more mature themes as each one is being release and may not be a great idea to let small children watch it.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2 Disc Edition

What can I say? This is the best and worst of the movies so far. It was one of my favorite books and my favorite movie. The problem is that they cut to many sub plots such as Dobby the House-Elf. Also they went from Chapter 9 in the book to like Chapter 11 in a second. Other than that, it was a terrific movie. Much darker than the first three, but they will just keep getting darker as we go to 7. You have to at least rent this movie though, because it does keep with the main story. Just get the regular one disc because the deleted scenes in my opinion are HORRIBLE!

I decided to buy this movie because I saw in theaters with my teenage daughter and I felt it is the best movie out of the four so far. But there where a few scary parts that did not need to be that scary for it being a kid movie. I say ages 12 and up should only be allowed to see this movie. But so far its the best but there are still 3 to go.

  BEST FILM

I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire three times when it came in theaters, and now I can't wait to buy the movie on DVD. I never thought a Harry Potter film can beat its book. I have to admit amongst all the movies compared to the book, "Goblet of Fire" is the only Harry Potter film that beats the book.

I'm not going to buy this film on eBay, but I am going to get it at a store that has movies for BOTH sale and rent a week early.

I consider myself a Harry Potter fan. I have seen all 4 of the movies, BUT I have not read any of the books (I know, I know...) Although I understand that a movie cannot possibly contain all the nuances and details that a book can deliver for the first time when watching this movie I felt totally lost. Without having any knowledge of the book the storyline just didn't flow for me. Now the special effects... were wonderful, but at the end of the movie I felt totally unfulfilled- I just didn't get this one. However, if you ARE familiar with the book your experience may be totally different because you will be able to fill in the bits and peices that appear to be left out of the movie.

One of my favorites so far. If you liked the book and the first three Harry Potter movies you will love this.

The special effects by far were the best, very realistic. And of course once again the actors did a wonderful job. There were a lot of great scenes in this movie, the underwater scene was brilliant! One scene I was hoping to see was more of the Quidditch World Cup. I was disappointed that there wasn't much footage of that.

But all in all a great movie, a definite must-see.

The Best Film in the Series
Review created: 05/10/06

1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

In this 4th Installment in the Harry Potter series, our young wizard finds himself
placed in the Tri-Wizard tournament - a competition consisting of 3 dangerous events. During all this both Harry & his friends(Ron & Hermione)also deal with the dreaded threat known as puberty: Harry struggles with the concept of asking a girl out, Ron still acts like a nervous wreck & Hermione finally snags her first date. Another highlight to look forward to is the long awaited return of Harry's quote on quote nemesis, Lord Voldemort(played brilliantly by Ralph Fiennes). I thought this follow-up was a huge improvement over the disappointing 3rd film(HP & The Prisoner of Azkaban)which really sucked and didn't seem to add anything major to the series. If you have any young ones that want to see the film be cautious because this time around the film is rated PG-13, instead of PG - due to some darker themed elements within the film. Overall, I give the film a 9 out of 10 - it not only makes up for the lame 3rd film but also adds a little something extra that all fans(of the books or just the movies)will enjoy.

This movie is a thrill ride! Nonstop action adventure moves the already well known characters to exciting adventure at warp speed. For character development and plot nuances, read the book, as I did before viewing this movie. I can't say how it stands up if you don't have the full back stories and the extensive chain of events that get us here; but I'll bet to the un initiated the exciting adventure here on it's own, does just fine! Special efx are excellent and true to author's discription.

I'd love to be ABLE to write a review...but for the SECOND TIME I've paid for the movie "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and for the SECOND TIME two different sellers have taken my money, never shipped the item, and dropped their registration. This is making me want to never use Half . com again. I've been burned in two consecutive purchases.

This Harry Potter installment was like being on a Rooler-Coaster going Backwards Blindfolded! NO FUN at all. Being a HUGE Potter fan, I was very excited to purchase this film because as far as I was concerned anything "Harry Potter" was worth the investment----and then---My Husband and Myself and our Kid's sat down to watch(with,Popcorn and all the trimmings!)Uggghhh......about an hour or so into the Movie, I asked--"Does anyone know what the heck is going on here!?" I was very discouraged by the amount of chop and flop the Movie was dishing out, not to mention it totally lacked the Heart and Soul of the previous "Potter" Movies. The cast seemed very distant emotion wise and left the story cold and void of any emotional attachment on the part of the viewer. So, sorry to say that this was a "Below Average" film at best. Poor "Harry".
