Emergency! - Season 2 (DVD, 2006)

This was a great show and it is really cool to relive it, as I was not even around when it was on TV. As a paramedic student, I find the show to be very interesting and much better than any Firefighting/Paramedic type Drama that we can find on Primetime today. I decided to buy it after hearing about it from my instructors and friends that work for the fire district I volunteer at.

This comment is towards all sellers, the high shipping costs.I ship large heavy boxes and the shipping on those don't even come to the cost of what most of the sellers are charging for dvd's and other small items.

As long as you keep in mind that this show comes from the '70's, it's not bad entertainment. Some episodes are better, some are worse. Only thing i dislike is the sometimes poor transfer, but there isn't anything that could have been done to fix it.

Love it all great quality DVD's! the sound, color, quality is all very good. Even though this show was made before i was even born I still remember watching it on TV before it was taken off the air. Its nice to be able to watch it again!!!

This series is the defining moment of EMS in this Nation.
Without the attention brought by this series, you could still have to dial full phone numbers and wait for a doctor to come by and see you, or just take your chances with getting to a Hospital.

Never before, or since, has a TV show had such an impact on healthcare in America.

Watch the unfolding of history when the fledgling Paramedic program was first introduced.
See representations of what actual Rescues were like, and how Paramedics became front line lifesavers.

The story lines also include the first rumblings of dissatisfaction at outdated and atiquated systems.

This series ignited the modern EMS wildfire that swept this country and had everyone demanding better Emergency Healthcare, and rocketed this PROFESSION from barely known to everyday conversation.
It also raised awareness and brought about public education and use of CPR, 911, and other improvements.

These "tapes" have even been used by hundreds of real EMS for training. (no kidding)

So if you are glad that the days of "having Two 'Ambulance Attendants' toss you in the back of a converted hearse and HOPE they got you to the hospital on time" are long gone, then you should enjoy this entertaining and wonderful series.

But then, as a Paramedic, I might be a little biased.

Quality FAMILY programming that will give you hours of viewing pleasure.

Before real-life TV, the "Emergency!" series brought out the role of EMS/EMT in a successful multi-season TV show. Firefighters and rescuers John Gage and Roy DeSoto come to the aid of the citizens of Los Angeles.

I watched this show when I was a little child. I love the Fire Trucks. all the above. No dislikes.

I won the bid and was told it would not be shipped, I guess because it was sold cheaper than everybody else's

Loved this series as a kid and love watching it all over again with my kid. The series was good back then and is just as good now more than 20 years later.

I bought this one cause I really like it. I grew up as a kid watching it with my parents. I am getting ready to buy my mom a season.

my husband loved them he got the dvds for fathers day. He works in Ems and likes the old shows. He said the dvds were brand new and they had very good quality

I was always a Huge fan of the TV show Emergency, I was at the time the show first aired and still involved in the Firefighter career.

I have been wanting these older TV movies that are hard to find in stores. I love ebay, because I can find what I want and don't have to travel 30 miles to a store. I find it easier to find what I want and at a great price.

I love this show and hope that they release all the other seasons and TV movies!
The only thing I hope they do in the future is put extras on them, like bloopers or interviews with the cast.
Picture and sound were great!

so so acting but worth the trips down memory lane

The dvd set is Great.. this is wonderful classic tv ! at its Greatest!! the picture and sound is so great better than i remeberd from when it was on.. I personaly will not buy from this seller again...

Emergency is a classic, it introduced paramedics to the world when EMS and field medicine was still in it’s infancy, at a time when the term paramedic was known only to the military. I am a paramedic, I knew I was going to be a paramedic from the very first time I saw Emergency back in the ‘70’s.

I love to look back at the old time shows brings back alot of memories. I used to love watching this show on tv when i was a little girl. Great to see the old fire trucks and the ambulances, it strange to see the difference verses today truck and how far we have come.

I liked the show when it was on television. I bought this for a son of mine who was fascinated by the show on television. The characters were very good. It was an all around good show.

I bought Emergency!-Season 2 for my son's 10th birthday. (He got Season 1 last year.) When he started to go "fire truck crazy", I remembered this show from when I was growing up. He LOVES it and I love the fact that I don't have to censor it! I often watch it with him and get a kick out of how much of it seems familiar,even though I haven't seen it for years (decades??). My husband and I groan over the fashion sense of the early 70's but at this point, that goes unnoticed by our son!

I Like this set just as much as the Season One set (see my review of it)

I'm not going to repeat what I said about the Season One set, but it all applies to Season Two also. Great stuff, fun to watch, enjoyable trip back in time and down memory lane.
