Bullet in a Bible [PA] [CD & DVD] by Green Day (CD, Nov-2005, 2 Discs, Reprise)

At the conclusion of the ennormously successful "American Idiot" tour, Green Day now releases it's first full-length live album. To entice fans even more, this comes as a CD/DVD combo package.

First the CD: "Bullit in a Bible" (14 tracks, 65 min.) is evenly divided between 7 A.I. tracks and 7 selections from the past. The band sounds really tight and arena-sized, and the sound quality of the CD is outstanding. Favorite tracks for me include "Holiday", "Longview", "Brain Stew", "Basket Case", and "Wake Me Up When September Ends". At 65 min., why didn't they squeeze in two or three more songs, but in the end this is a very enjoyable performance. The DVD is another story altogether (the tracklist of the DVD is listed above in the Amazon listing). Two major complaints: rather than having the show in one section and the interviews with the band in another section, they are all intermixed, severely testing the continuity of the show. Even worse is the incessant editing of the show: the picture shifts to another angle just about every few seconds. I know this is the MTV age of short attention spans, but come on! After a while, it becomes quite annoying. Too bad, as Green Day is clearly at the top if its game musically.

In all, this is certainly not a "bad" CD/DVD combo, but it could've been even better and I know that I will not be playing the DVD all that much. But I'm glad to have the CD in my carousel!

I loved this Movie! I liked it when I went to the theater and watched it! And when it comes out on November 15th I am going to buy it! Green Day Playing to there largest crowd ever around 146,000 in England. And Billie Joe Mike and Tre Playing there hearts out for all of those people, making each person feel like it was there own show!

if you are a big green day fan this live dvd is one to buy. green day is one of the few bands that perform live they put on a great show. and the bounus is the live cd if you cant watch dvd which has all the songs as the dvd does .so, check it out you will not be sorry , cant wiat for a live 21st century breakdown live dvd .

when green day brings it, THEY BRING IT. my goodness. i was watching this show by myself and was having a good time. -that's when you know a band is legit.

billie is just so commanding and funny on stage. how can you get bored? and im watching it from my living room. imagine actually being there. there are also a lot of his ass shots. and let me just say, he has a pretty sexy ass.

I love the behind the scenes, the live song CD, it shows how happy and fun these guys are. I used to own this CD/DVD set but it got stolen so i bought another!

This dvd is fantastic for all u green day fans. Not for the younger kids tho...lol I really liked the personalization with band members interviews. Made me want to jump into the screen and be there. Great concert footage! I love it!!! Highly reccomended

Concert footage is fantastic. If you've followed Green Day from their meager beginings the growth the band has gone thru is clearly displayed with their command of the stage/audiance. Great sound and footage.

I had this CD previously and absolutely LOVED it. Unfortunately I had took it to work with me and it mysteriously disappeared, so I got it again. I love Green Day. This is a CD of all their hit songs and it's the live version. I couldn't begin to say enough great things about this CD.

i bought this for my daughter. it must be a great cd, because since she got it, i havnt seen her--only heard the cd--unvoluntarily of course.

This CD is from the concert in England. The band did not sound that good. I have seen them in concert where they sounded much better. I was disappointed. I am a big Green Day fan.

The concert rocks! IMO, this is the best concert any punk rock band has ever performed. The dvd is full of great behind the scenes footage, behind the scenes at the actual concert, and some interviews of fans... I knew it was going to be good, but this is amazing if you are a Green Day and/or punk rock music fan... You will not be dissapointed... BUY IT!

This is a great cd and dvd. It has a collection of Green Day's best songs. All live. And Green Day actually isn't one of those bands that just flat-out stink live. They are actually really good live. The songs are great for the cd, but unless you watch the dvd first, you won't even be able to ell some of the songs are edited in the cd. The dvd is very good too. You'll se ALL of the band members and not just Billie Joe. You will see the audience a lot too. The footage is amazing and the behind the scenes are great too. A lot of them are with the band, and really funny. Another one shows all the people who made the cd/dvd recording everything on audio and video. Its cool to see how they did it all. There's also a couple where they just interview fans. Which is one of my personal favorites because it shows that Green Day really does care for their fans and that the fans really love the band. So, overall, this is a must have for every Green Day fan and even just punk fans. Hope I helped and I hope you buy this amazing cd/dvd.
