Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) continue their battle against the machines in THE MATRIX RELOADED, the second chapter of Larry and Andy Wachowski's MATRIX trilogy. As RELOADED begins, Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus arrive in Zion with new crew member Link (Harold Perrineau), and discover that 250,000 dreaded sentinels are close to launching a massive attack on the underground haven for the liberated minds of humanity. So, what can you expect in a movie follow-up for one of the best, technologically advanced, special effects, sci-fi movies in recent memories? Matrix Reloaded is definitely a good movie, and even with more ground-breaking special effects than the original, it just did not get the job done as well as the first movie. I did not find myself quite as engaged, either. I still cared about the characters, but knowing that this movie was part two and a third one follows took the urgency away. The plot was fairly good, and decently played out as well. No matter how you turn it, though, it still plays in the shadows of the first movie. Do I recommend it? As long as the price it right.

The first movie, The Matrix, altered our reality forever. The second, Reloaded, has added a 'new dimention' to our understanding of the first.

The special effects are no less startling than those offered in The Matrix. From the moment that it begins until the last scene, to be continued.... this one is as intricately interwoven as the first.

Rarely is a sequel able to compete as well as this one. The visuals of the multi-Smiths to the riple effects or Neo-waves created each time Neo manipulates The Matrix.

This movie is NO LESS exciting than the first and certainly adds a more vivid understanding of the Matrix.

If you loved the first one, you have to see the second one. This movie is loaded with special effects that make the fighting scenes exciting to the viewer. Keanue Reeves was able to do more action stunts in the movie (The first Matrix movie Reeves had recently had back surgery and could not do as many action/leg movements). The music fits perfectly to the movie and gives you more of a jolt while you are watching it. While it leaves unanswered question (you have to see the last Matrix movie to get everything answered), it was just the perfect ending to leave you wanting more. The special features on the DVD are wonderful and I know I enjoyed them greatly (The MTV movie awards special feature is so funny)! I think this is a must see movie!

Although it has all the hallmarks of the first Matrix -- the same characters, slow-motion action sequences (in 'bullet time'), leather trenchcoats, and all that, the Matrix Reloaded is a distinct letdown after the first film in the series.

Although mayhem abounds, the story seems long-winded, unfocused, and fairly pointless; character development is close to nil; the 'philosophizing' is shallow and sometimes sophomoric ("for every effect, there is a cause" -- nah, I never would have guessed that on my own), and the only vaguely interesting spot in the film is Agent Smith, who -- ironically enough, since he is nothing but a machine -- seems like the only character with a personality and gets most of the humorous lines as well.

Worst of all is the blatant "we're not going to tell you what's going on, here's a cliffhanger" ending -- complete with a message of "To Be Continued." Crassness doesn't sink any lower than this; naturally, movie series leave something to be decided in a sequel, but each film is usually constructed so that there's some kind of resolution to the current plotlines. The Matrix Reloaded just cuts the plot off in mid-sentence, leaving it feeling not only bland and unfocused, but unfinished and unsatisfying as well.

The only reason to give this 2/5 rather than 1/5 is that Agent Smith brings a bit of ironic humor to a performance that's otherwise as limp and predictable as leftover broccoli.

I have enjoyed the whole Matrix triology and decided to make the collection complete by buying The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. The Matrix, to me, is the better of the whole collection -- it was the initial idea and very new. It's great though to see the story played out in the next two editions. Especially, since Neo keeps manifesting more powers through the Matrix. You definitely can't beat Mr. Smith as the quintessential bad guy. Neo and Trinity take their love to the next level. More questions and some answers. Two people in a coma at the end -- who will wake up and what will happen. Terrific effects and fight scenes. Can't beat any of the triology for action and excitement.

After the phenomenonal success of the first Matrix film, the creators were sure to make sequals. I found both sequals somewhat disappointing.

While the special effects were far more elaborate than in the original, they were not used well. I still enjoy the fight scenes better in #1 than in #2 or #3.

The story left much to be desired as well. Very little actually happened in 'Reloaded'. And what did could be better. Fans have written continuations of the original which are far more promising than what the 'professional' writers came up with.

True Matrix fans will no doubt wish to see the sequals. They are not without some redeeming value. But they are nowhere near the original.

This movie, in my opinion, is the weakest of the Matrix trilogy. The special effects are nice, and so is the cinematography, but the story line seems a little disconnected at times. However, if you liked the first Matrix, then you will most likely enjoy this one too, especially if you can shop around and find it for $1.99 (it came with free S&H). So, for the price, even as high as 5$, I'd say this is totally worth it. Also, be sure to watch it using 5.1 surround sound as that will definitely improve the overall viewing experience.

I liked the movie and the martial arts were good but didn't turn out to be upto my expectations. After you see the first one, you feel like this is not the standard that they have maintained. The first one more focussed on martial arts and good clear shots on fighting. This one hasm ore of animation and people fly in the air and buildings and they just fight on the air for around 5 mins...they hit no ground. Overall good one though. But still I wouldn't watch it again.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this movie? It's a classic. A pioneering film through its unique story and also, for lack of better words, it's Matrix action scenes. This movie may be a classic but it's sequels pale in comparison...they are just ok action flicks at best. This is the real McCoy in the modern scifi action-thriller-drama scene, rent it if you haven't yet. Otherwise your missing out on one of our most recent all-time best classics.

As usual the second movie of a trilogy is a little slower... butyou must see this in order to understand the whole movie. It has great special effects and you can't get enough of Keanu Reves

Good Movie But....You Need to See the First Movie Before This One!

Why is everything set in a trilogy series nowadays???!!! Sheesssh!

Almost have to wait for a DVD collection set comes out!

Anyway, rent this one and the first and third and watch them all together over a series of nights to get the most out of this series!

The Matrix Reloaded - The long awaited sequel. It did not disappoint. More great action and effects. The good story continues and leaves it up in the air for the third installment. It reminds me of the Star Wars trilogy at this point.

wow what more can be said about this movie, it's a good movie that lives up to it's expectations, you will understand more of the first one if you watch this one. I think it is a great sci-fi movie and I'am not one to like sci-fi to much.

The Matrix trilogy is a masterpiece in science-fiction genre, the 2 fisrt movies are excellent, the last one is not too bad but perfect as the 2 before. If you didn't any of the trilogy, you are missing something.

bought on e-bay to add to my collection. this movie has great special effects. this is sci-fi stepped up a notch and with some twists. i hope you enjoy it as much as i do!!!!

Picks right up where the last one left off and the car chase scene is to die for. Although next time they want to trash a caddy like that ill let them use my minivan instead.

Unbelievable action combined with deep philosophy meld to create one of the greatest movie experiences one could possibly hope for. Enjoyable on a myriad of levels, from those among us who only want to see great martial arts to people who want to be up till 3 in the morning 4 months after seeing the movie wondering if it might have just strayed onto the truth.

We overestimated the Wachowski Bros. when we hoped they would present a follow-up that would hold true to 'what it means' to be an underdog, hack a Matrix or rage against a machine.

They did not stop with this one at all. The action is so electrified. You do watch this one many times. FANTASTIC!!!!
