What's That Smell?

First of all, I'll assume you're reading this because you can tolerate, and may even like Marilyn Manson. As a group, Marilyn Manson forge the way to being the world's all-time most famous shock-rock death metal band. This album showcases some of their better tunes (better than most else that was recorded prior to 1995). It's main selling point and the band's most popular (and acceptable?) song up to that point, "Sweet Dreams", is on this album. There are a few catchy and fast paced tunes that are sure to become favorites as well. Although this album includes covers and previously released tracks (and some remixes as well), it is still a great display of Manson's ability and talents, from an artistic standpoint at least.
The worst part of this CD is the abundance of interludes. They're fun to listen to the first time, but you'll soon find yourself skipping over them again and again to get to the actual real songs that suit you most. For this reason, if you're looking for more of an actual album with a lot more content, you should try Portrait of an American Family, or even skip a ways ahead to Antichrist Superstar.
All in all, a good piece to add to any Manson album collection, but there's a good chance it won't be your favorite.
